The Run:
I am sure that all those who turned up for the run looked for the trail whilst they were heading to the car park at the Water Gardens. But, alas it was in vain as it was a bus run. This did upset a couple of runners who spat the dummy as they, as usual, took their dogs. There is one comment for that – stiff.
The precedence was set before the run started. No beers allowed on the bus. Then there was the problem for those who turned up late, they missed the bus. Shitlid did give some a lift to the start.
The walkers were dropped off at the helo landing pad at the hospital whilst the runners were taken to the upper entrance to the coastal plains reserve opposite the Lee Point road caravan park. It was then the marathon started. The trail headed down to the next lower level track then proceeded towards the footbridge behind the hospital. How far was that you might ask. It was a bloody long way the runners will tell you as this was where the first check was. It was across the footbridge to the free beach where some did follow the trail down to the beach but the sane ones followed the track to the next check at the first car park at the nudist beach. This is where we lost Barbarian. It was then onto CDU for a piss stop. In all, 3 checks. Don’t know where Barbarian went to at the nudist beach but he came in at the piss stop a long time after the rest of the pack.
It was a long leisurely stroll back to the Water Gardens.
I cannot comment on the walkers as no one came forth with any useful information that could be used in the hash sheet.
At the circle the GM did ask the pack what they thought of the run and the following comments were given – waste of a bus, too short, no tape, fairy bread Casuarina food.
Score: We wont start with a base score as we will just add up the pros and cons and see what we get. Bus run plus 3. Venue plus 2. number of checks minus 3. no snages minus 2. no butter minus 1. no sauce minus 1. no bread minus 1. Tucker being served after 2030 minus 2. Birthday run plus 3. shitlid 75th birthday plus 7.5. Last, but not least – fairy bread at the end of the run minus 2.
